Greenware® US Gran Prix of Cyclocross Brings on Marketing and Communications Specialist
Louisville, KY (April 6th, 2011): Organizers of the Greenware® US Gran Prix of Cyclocross have announced today that they have added a Marketing and Communications Specialist to their staff. Jessi Braverman joined the USGP team last week. Braverman has provided social media and public relations support to several road racing teams over the past four years and currently serves as Social Media Coordinator for the UCI Women's professional squad Team TIBCO and Online Content Specialist for the UCI WorldTour Team, LEOPARD TREK.
The continued growth of the USGP cyclocross series has made this position possible. “We are thrilled to have Jessi on board with the USGP. We've experienced tremendous growth - both the USGP and the sport in general - necessitating the need to expand our staff. Jessi's involvement will enable us to better serve our racers, sponsors and fans by providing greater on-site media coverage, faster race highlights, updates and results and more features about the sponsors who make it all possible.” said Joan Hanscom Series Director for the USGP.
Braverman is excited about the opportunity to transition from the road to the dirt. “The Planet Bike Cup was the first ‘cross race I ever attended, and the series immediately had me hooked on the discipline,” said Braverman. “Fans have easy access to all the action at each USGP venue and become a huge part of the energy of the event. For those those they can’t be at the venue, the USGP has done an exceptional job providing access to the excitement as it unfolds via their live streaming coverage. I look forward to supporting communication efforts already in place and establishing new ways for fans and sponsors to get involved.”
Last year, the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross partnered with VeloNews.com and CyclingDirt.org to bring daily live video race coverage of the Elite/Pro Men's and Women’s races. Braverman will provide live race weekend content to compliment the live coverage that will continue in 2011.
In addition to her communications role Braverman, who has long been an advocate for strong women's racing programs, will be actively seeking sponsorship support specifically for the women's USGP races. "The USGP has long supported equality for the Women's side of the sport. It's exciting to work with an organization who believes in equality in sport. The Women's USGP offers sponsors great a opportunity for season-long exposure cultivating an attractive and appreciative demographic ."
